Tuttle: 'Our worst performance since I have been here'

Even manager David Tuttle has admitted Millwall are likely to be relegated.

"I didn't realise how early in the game we had gone behind because I thought we'd started quite brightly and had at least one chance," he said. "but on reflection, to be two goals down at home in a game of this importance is quite unbelievable. I'm not going to blame any individual because we are all in this together, but everyone has to take a long look at themselves and their contribution including myself. At the moment I'm absolutely devastated because I believed we would win this game, particularly after the performance at Watford last weekend.
All we can do now is make sure that we bounce back in the same way as we did after the Leicester game, beat Derby and then win all our remaining games to give ourselves a chance."

"The players are down, they came off the pitch listening to the fans' frustrations but we accept that. They know they were poor. But we have to roll our sleeves up, pick ourselves up and get on with it. We made two mistakes for the two goals and then went downhill badly. We were dire all game.We were dire and if we are relegated, then I deserve to be sacked, it has been our worst performance since I have been here. I cannot put my finger on why we played in this manner after last week at Watford.

“I have enjoyed being a manager and we were in trouble when I took over. But I thought we could escape. I would love to carry on, though I don’t think it is over. We always knew we would have to win two more matches than Sheffield Wednesday.”
